Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in UD Almería, the Spanish second-tier club currently in contention for promotion to LaLiga. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Ronaldo confirmed the investment will be managed through CR7 Sports Investments, a new subsidiary of his parent company CR7 SA, which consolidates his ventures across the sports sector.

“I have long had the ambition to contribute to football beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a Spanish club with a strong foundation and clear growth potential. I look forward to supporting the club in this new phase of growth,” Ronaldo said.

Almería president Mohamed Al Khereiji welcomed the partnership, praising Ronaldo’s knowledge of Spanish football and his ability to help develop both the first team and the youth academy.

The club currently sits third in the Segunda División, trailing leaders Racing de Santander and CD Castellón by just one and two points, keeping their promotion hopes alive.
