Turkish topflight club Hatayspor honored Ghana's Christian Atsu once more in a touching fashion following his painful demise early this year.
Atsu, was a victim of an earthquake that occured at his playing-base Turkey in February and went to rubbles but was found and pronounced dead subsequently after series of attempts made to get him rescued.
This unfortunate incident occured just a day after scoring a spectacular last minute free kick to secure all three points for his side in their narrow 1-0 win over Kasimpasa in the Super Lig on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
Hatayspor returned to the pitch for the first time since the sad event and engaged in a preseason friendly against English side Hull City at the Timsah Arena.
Prior to the start of the game, the Stars of the Souths paid tribute to all lost souls in the unfortunate disaster including their former star Christian Atsu.
Club manager Volkan Demirel that lifted him in the course celebrating his last goal for the team was also made to lead the honor by lifting a jersey with his image on it in the team's group pic prior to the start of the game.
