Timo Werner is a 27 year old German footballer who plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
Werner's transfer out of Leipzig have been a major headline in recent times.

The former Chelsea forward re-signed for Leipzig on August 9, 2022 on a four year deal for a fee of £25.3 million. Werner said ' I am happy to play for Leipzig again' as his £47.7 million move to Chelsea did not work as planned as he missed matches to Strain injury and Corona virus.

Werner's likelihood dream of being home was shutted with injuries again. In the 2022/23 season he had a ligament tear, cold and an ankle injury keeping him out for 81 days off the pitch and at the start of this season he has picked up back problem.

In 2019/20 league season, Werner played 34 Bundesliga games with 28 goals and 8 assists which he was hoping to do same in his second spell but he scored 9 goals last season placing joint 19th on the goalscorers' list. He has 2 goals from 8 outings this season. Not the run he wanted.

Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schröder said in an interview with Bild speaking on Werner leaving. He said ' I wouldn't say that now. We look at the squad normally and will certainly also have players who may say on their own that they have something else in mind'.  He also added speaking on performance wise that "' there's a bit of performance principle. And if others are currently a bit ahead, then Timo [Werner] is also one who faced the whole thing and he has to accept the matter '"

Timo Werner came in as the highest paid player from Chelsea on a €10 million per year. He has lost his place in the Leipzig set-up with Loïs Openda, Yussuf Poulsen and Benjamin Šeško all in the pecking order before him. He has lost his place in the German national team as well as he needs more playing time to get into the squad which Leipzig cannot give him so he plans for a new direction in the January transfer window where Leipzig are ready to let him go for a figure around €20 million.
