Debutants Madagascar humble two time finalists Ghana by 2-1 in a tricky Group C fixture of the ongoing 2022 African Nations Championship
Both teams begun the game on a good note leaving an even exchange from the two sides in the opening minutes.
The Bareas opened the scoring account in just nine minutes from kick through Koloina whose shot initially went into Danlad Ibrahim but his rebound found the net.
Ghana was given a penalty few minutes after, in what looked like a quick response after Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was clipped down in the box. Referee consulted VAR and overturned the decision.
Afriyie Barnieh once again with a good scoring opportunity but his header from Augustine Randolph's cross missed the post by inches.
Abdul Razak Yussif was set up with a huge chance in the box but appallingly fired wide for a goalkick. That was very easy to score than to miss.
Back from recess, the Black Galaxies returned with an attacking approach as they look to hunt from onset in search for the leveller.
Madagascar were really comfortable and were mostly packed in their zone in attempt to preserve their lead.
On the 63rd minute, Augustine Randolph gifted a pass to Randriantsiferana who rounded Ibrahim Danlad to struck into the net to double Madagascar's lead.
Randolph's clanger got him sacrificed for his place to be taken by Augustine Agyapong who scored a beauty to reduce the deficit for Ghana.
Series of goal attempts were made by the Ghanaians especially in the last ten minutes but all yielded nothing as it finished 2-1 for Madagascar after full time.
