Madagascar nipped on a last gasp goal to narrowly defeat Niger by 1-0 to finish third in the ongoing 2022 African Nations Championship. 

Both teams started well with some decent opportunities falling on their path in the early stages but couldn't make it count.

The Malagasy as usual were ahead in terms of who was the dominant side, having dominated possession and made some incredible goal attempts.
 
The Nigeriens might not press and dominate possession but also arranged really well and stay compact in their zone to endure all pressure from their opponents. 
 
In the second half, the Bareas resumed really well and had a big goal-scoring opportunity to themselves but Aro Hasina fired wide for a goalkick.
 
Madagascar once again with a chance to find the back of the net but Jean Yvon Razafindrakoto had his close range strike blocked to a wasted corner kick by captain Boureima Katkore.
 
Fast-forward the Ménas were giving a free kick just at the edge of the box on the 74th minute but Bilyamine Moussa had his effort went into the human wall and subsequently resulted into a wasted corner kick.
 
Soumana Hainikoye came so close to snatching the lead few minutes after but couldn't reach out on Adamou Djibo's teasing delivery from close range.
 
Finally on the 89th minute, the Bareas got the opener through Jean Yvon Razafindrakoto who pounced on howler from goalkeeper Mahamadou Djibrilla. 
 
Adamou Djibo nearly replied quickly with a strong hit from a free kick but was parried away by Zakanirina Rakotoasimbola. 
 
It ended 1-0 for Madagascar after full time and have clinched bronze at the 2022 CHAN.
