The much-anticipated 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship finally gets into the conclusion stage with the final set to come off on Saturday, February 4, 2023 between host nation Algeria and Senegal at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.

Ghana was represented in this year's edition after missing out in the last three but the Black Galaxies had an appaling campaign after getting evicted by Niger in the quarter final.

Algeria are playing on home soil and what a victory it will look to be crowned champions at the expense of your own supporters.

Senegal, however, will hope to have their hands gripped on this trophy to extend their dominance  in the African game as their senior national team still remain African champions.

The Desert Foxes have exhibited a five star display right from the start of the competition and are the only country with hundred percent record in the competition, having won all their matches so far in the competition.

They picked nine points to top Group A having recorded slim victories over Libya, Ethiopia and Mozambique before once again edging out Cote D'Ivoire narrowly from the tourney in the quarter final.

A spirited semi final performance from Madjid Bougherra's men saw them humiliate Niger by an emphatic 5-0 to book a final spot at the CHAN for the first time in their history.

On the opposition end, Senegal after fighting so hard to beat Cote D'Ivoire in their group opener, subsequently lost to Uganda in their second game to throw their qualification chances in limbo but thumped on DR Congo 3-0 in their final game of the first round to advance into the knockout phase.

Pape Thiaw's lads humbled Mauritania in the round eight before nipping on Pape Diallo's early first half goal to breeze past high-flying Madagascar to the final.
