José Peseiro- the head of coach Nigeria ahead of the final against Cote D'Ivoire this evening, has expressed eagerness to win the trophy and is very impressed with the journey he's had in his maiden Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Despite not finishing as winners of their group, the Greens defied all odds to cruise into the last two, having taken out Cameroon, Angola and South Africa via penalty shootouts in the process.

The Super Eagles despite not getting the goals from the starman Victor Osimhen, relied hugely on goals from Ademola Lookman and also from deputy skipper William Troost-Ekong in the knockout phase.

In an interview ahead of the crunchy final, the Portuguese tactician has saluted the AFCON tourney due to it emotional atmosphere and is very desperate and dedicated to help Nigeria clinch their fourth title.

"Participating in a final holds immense importance. This being my inaugural AFCON experience has indeed been special," Peseiro remarked.

"The emotional atmosphere in Africa is truly unique. This journey has been a profound learning experience, and I'm eager to clinch the title with the Nigerian team tomorrow," he added

The final is scheduled for 20:00GMT tonight at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé.
