Nigeria's Super Eagles B head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has expressed satisfaction with the draw in the first leg of the playoff round of the African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana, setting the stage for what will be a highly-anticipated return leg this weekend.

The Nigeria home-based national team secured a hard-fought goalless draw against the Black Galaxies in Accra and the Remo Stars head coach admitted that his side were just lucky as the hosts squandered several scoring opportunities that fell on their path.

"Before we came here, we knew what we were coming to face in a team like Ghana considering the rivalry between the two countries. We knew how tough it would be whenever we meet on the stage so we expected a very tough battle, we are lucky and satisfied with the result we came out with," Ogunmodede said after the match.

The Super Eagles B team departed Accra on Monday morning, heading back to Abuja to intensify their preparations for the decisive second leg, which is slated for December 28, 2024, in Uyo.
