Tanzania Premier League champions Young Africans SC have been drawn into a challenging group for the 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League group stage.
The draw ceremony, conducted at the SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Monday, was overseen by CAF’s Head of Competitions Division, Nassar Khaled, with African football legends Alex Song of Cameroon and Christopher Katongo of Zambia assisting.
Young Africans, who will be seeking to make a strong impression in this year’s competition, have been placed in Group B alongside three North African powerhouses — 12-time champions Al Ahly (Egypt), AS FAR (Morocco), and JS Kabylie (Algeria) — setting up one of the most competitive groups of the tournament.
Fellow Tanzanian giants Simba SC, runners-up in last season’s CAF Confederation Cup, have been drawn in Group D, where they will face a tough lineup featuring Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia), Atlético Petróleos de Luanda (Angola), and Stade Malien (Mali).
Elsewhere, Al Hilal SC (Sudan) find themselves in Group C alongside 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), MC Alger (Algeria), and FC Lupopo (DR Congo).
The group stage matches are scheduled to kick off on November 21, 2025, and will run through to February 2026.
