As Black Stars prepares for a crucial encounter against Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, head coach Otto Addo has expressed optimism about his squad’s capabilities.
The match, set to take place on October 15, presents an essential opportunity for the Black Stars to secure a victory and strengthen their position in the group.
In a recent press conference, Addo emphasized the importance of teamwork and tactical cohesion, stating, "We have a good team structure, we have good players individually, and now it's about putting things together. It doesn’t mean we’ve played well in almost all the games. This is normal; we can have bad games. But now it’s about giving that extra effort to win this game and reward ourselves for the hard work the boys have put in."
Reflecting on previous performances, Addo acknowledged the mixed results, but he believes the team has the potential to build on their last outing. "If we win this game, there’s more to come. We can pick up from the last game and bring the same attitude, the same defensive discipline, but also the same offensive actions to create chances. If we do this consistently, this Sudan wall will break, and we will score."
The coach highlighted the necessity of maintaining confidence and belief among the players. "It’s about keeping the fire alive, believing in ourselves, and knowing our own strengths. Once we put our tactics together and understand each other’s movements, we’ll be ready to fulfill our dream of winning this game."
