The Black Stars of Ghana are set to officially open camp on September 2, ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.

The senior national team will commence their Group F campaign with matches against Angola and Niger.

Ghana will host Angola's Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5, before traveling to face Niger on September 9. Preparations will begin in Accra, where the team will train before heading to Kumasi for the home fixture.

According to sources at Footballghana.com, head coach Otto Addo has already submitted his squad for the first two qualifiers to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association. Notably, the squad does not include any players from the Ghana Premier League.

Addo is expected to assemble a strong team as Ghana aims to secure early qualification for the AFCON tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco next year. The Black Stars are looking to build on their recent success, having secured back-to-back victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.

As four-time African champions, Ghana will be aiming to finish in one of the top two spots in Group F, ensuring their place in the tournament scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
