West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has revealed his displeasure after being told Ghana are yet to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the Jamaican international it would be disappointing if the Black Stars failed to qualify for the continental showpiece.
“Ghana hasn’t qualified for the AFCON?” Antonio looked flabbergasted as he sat with Joy Sports in an interview.
“It’s very disappointing, but to be fair, Ghana is going through a transition right now. New players are coming in, trying to rediscover the philosophy they used to have, the quality that Ghana used to have… to be fair, they still have some quality now.”
Ghana will take on the Palancas Negras in their fifth game of the qualifiers, slated for Friday, November 18, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.
The Black Stars currently man the third spot in Group F with two points from four matches.
To secure qualification, they would have to win their remaining matches and hope that Sudan loses its final games against Niger and Angola.
