The head of Legal and Regulatory at the Sudanese Football Federation, Badreldin Ibrahim, has revealed details of the forthcoming home match against Ghana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The decision to play the match in South Sudan comes following the ongoing political unrest in Sudan which has forced the national team to play their home qualifying matches abroad, including in Libya.

However, in an interview with Angel TV, Badreldin Ibrahim disclosed the details of the fixture which hasn't been shrouded in secrecy.

"Sudan will be playing AFCON qualifying games and also the World Cup qualifying games in South Sudan at the new Juba stadium. We are excited to play in such an environment. There was an inauguration match there where we won 3-0," said Ibrahim.

"The support from both the Sudanese and South Sudanese will be crucial when we host our qualifying matches there," he added.

Ghana was paired in Group F with Sudan, Angola and Niger during the 2025 AFCON Qualifying draw on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
