Head coach of Ghana's Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei has underscored the benefit of arriving in Egypt ahead of schedule for the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
Ofei stressed that It has proved helpful for acclimatization ahead of the competition.
Ghana's U20 team jetted into Cairo over the weekend, practically two weeks before their first match
Ofei stated that it has been beneficial for acclimatisation ahead of the tournament.
The team arrived in Cairo over the weekend, almost two weeks before their first game, to begin their final preparations for the competition, which kicks off this coming weekend.
“We are very fortunate to have arrived early in Egypt to acclimatize. The conditions are excellent. The training pitch is in great shape, the facilities are fantastic, and the food is good," says Ofei.
“We are in a good space, which allows us to really focus, work hard, and get to our best level as soon as possible.”
The Black Satellite has been paired in Group C shoulder to shoulder with Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.
Ghana will be hoping to surpass the previous record and win their fifth U20 AFCON title, having last won the trophy in 2021.
