It’s the first international window of the 2025/26 season and the Black Stars of Ghana will cross swords with Chad at Marshal Idriss Déby Itno Stadium in matchday 7 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The first leg finished in an emphatic 5-0 win for the Black Stars in Accra, courtesy goals from five different scorers namely Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu and Ernest Nuamah.

While Ghana will look to continue with their impressive run in the qualifiers and win to boost their qualification chances, Chad will also have their sights set on nothing but a win to secure their first in the campaign.

MATCH PREVIEW

‘Les Sao’ haven’t won a game for over a year now having so far lost all matches they have played so far in the qualifiers with their last defeats coming against Ghana and Comoros in the last round of matches.

They were last seen in action in a double header against Kenya - where they drew goalless in the first game before losing 2-1 in the second fixture against the Harambee Stars.

On the opposition end, the four-time African champions took commanding wins in the last round of matches to cruise into the summit of Group I and are now enjoying a three-point lead.

After mauling Chad at home, the Black Stars once again humbled Madagascar by 3-0 in a very fascinating encounter in Al Hoceima, Morocco.

Spanish-based midfielder Thomas Partey was unstoppable on the day having netted two beautiful goals coupled with another from Kudus Mohammed to seal the win.

There hasn’t been any major injury update from Chad and coach Raoul Savoy will have a full strength squad to select from for the game,

However, coach Otto Addo despite having most of the key guys available will miss Alexander Djiku and Joseph Paintsil for the game.
