End of the road for Police Ladies who have now missed out on the main continental showpiece after a huge 4-1 loss to ASEC Mimosas in the semi-final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B CAF Champions League qualifiers.
The game was really a very cagey one at the Charles Konan Stadium as it took 43 minutes before the opening goal was registered after Ami Diallo found the net to open the scoring account.
In the second half, ASEC Mimosas bounced back stronger and scored again in just two minutes through Essi Dagba before Habibou Ouédraogo netted in the 54th minute to increase their tally and continue running riot.
Just two minutes later after the third, Sarah Nyarko pulled one back for Police Ladies with a cool finish to grab her second of the competition.
In the 68th minute, the Mimos restored their three-goal lead from a penalty kick which was converted neatly by N’Guessan Nadege to seal an emphatic 4-1 win.
The Ivorian champions after the win have punchy their ticket to the final and will face Nigerian giants Bayelsa Queens in the final.
Police Ladies FC will also square off with Burkinabe side USFA in the third place playoff on Friday, September 5.
