It was a thrilling and exciting encounter at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg where Madagascar edge Comoros by 2-1 to record their second win of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Originally, the game was to be held in Antananarivo but was moved to a neutral ground due to the unavailability of FIFA standard venue in Madagascar at the moment.
The Barea despite not making a good start to the qualifiers having lost to Ghana, have bounced back stronger to win their last two matches.
AJ Auxerre midfielder Rayan Raveloson opened the scoring account for the Malagasy in just one minute from kickoff.
Again in the second half, Raveloson once again scored on the 66th minute to complete his brace and hand his side a two goal cushion.
However, in the dying embers of the game, Fardou Ben pulled one back for the Coelacanths as it finished 2-1 after full time.
Madagascar after the win have climbed up to the top-spot in Group I and are tied with both Comoros and Ghana on six points each but have a better goal difference.
They will host the Eagles of Mali, while Comoros will travel to Chad in in the next round of matches next week.
