Another sweating-moments awaits Nigerians as the Super Eagles come face-to-face with South Africa's Bafana Bafana later tonight.

The Super Eagles are in a precarious position, and will be aiming to make the maximum use of this opportunity to move two-steps ahead of their opponents in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

“We have to seize this opportunity in Uyo to be ahead of Bafana Bafana in our group,” Coach Sylvester Otemu of FC Rocket, a colts team based in Ikorodu, Lagos said in a message.

Another fan, Moses, who spoke on a radio sports program monitored by Kickgh.com, yesterday, said; “Hopefully, I will be in Uyo tomorrow (today) to cheer the team, I want to watch Finidi dishing out instructions from the sideline. He made his mark as a player, and I pray as a coach, Finidi will pilot the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

“I pray our Super Eagles players will give us the day, as all Nigerians are anxiously waiting and we pray we get it right this time today,” Moses concluded.

Currently, Rwanda and the Benin Republic are dictating the pace in Group C with four points each, a development that makes today's tie billed to kick off at 19:00 GMT (8pm Nigeria time) at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, even more important for South Africa and Nigeria as they are in the third and fourth positions, respectively, in the group.
