Former Dreams FC duo John Antwi and Abdul Aziz Issah have been nominated for CAF Inter-Club Player of the year award following their outstanding performances in the CAF Confederations Cup last season.
The two played an instrumental role in helping the 'Still Believe' lads reach the semi final of the competition having lost painfully to eventual winners Zamalek SC.
John Antwi, who joined the club mainly to help them with the experience he's got heading into their first Africa campaign, really accomplished his mission having netted six goals and provided an assist in 14 games.
Also, young-sensation Abdul Aziz Issah had an amazing campaign with six goals involvements from 12 matches and his heroics earned him a season long loan move to European giants FC Barcelona with an option for a permanent deal last summer.
These amazing displays are definitely the main reasons these players were shortlisted for the prestigious award and will have to compete with top figures like Sayed Zizou, Hussein El Shahat, Ronwen Williams, Burkinabe center-back Issoufou Dayo and others
This year’s awards recognize achievements from September 2023 to June 2024, culminating in the titles of CAF African Player of the Year for both women and men.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced today that the CAF Awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
