Angola's head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has lauded the vibrant atmosphere created by fans in Kumasi, particularly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, which he believes embodies the passion of African football.

Recalling a previous visit to the iconic stadium, Goncalves expressed his admiration for the enthusiastic crowd.

"A year and a half ago, we experienced the incredible atmosphere in Kumasi. The stadium, the crowd—it was truly lovely. I think Kumasi represents the passion side of African football," the coach remarked during a pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Goncalves shared these sentiments ahead of Angola's crucial clash with the Black Stars of Ghana in the opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The match, scheduled for Thursday, September 5, will see both teams eager to secure a strong start in their Group F campaign as they vie for a spot in the next AFCON tournament.

The game promises to be a fiercely contested showdown, with both Ghana and Angola aiming for victory to build momentum in their quest for continental glory.
