Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has been vindicated with his advocacy for the Belgian-based player to be a regular in the Black Stars.
Majeed Ashimeru was introduced into the second half and immediately contributed to the dominance of the Black Stars in the game.
The ex-WAFA player injected pace and controlled the game, ultimately ensuring a hard one-nil win against Madagascar.
Coincidentally, the last time Majeed Ashimeru played for the senior national team was against Madagascar in March when Ghana drew 0-0 in the AFCON 2023 qualifier.
"This guy @MajeedAshimeru is the best midfielder in Ghana, after @Thomaspartey22 PERIOD. I have kept quiet on this, but this nonsense must stop. Smh,” the ex-Sunderland striker fumed on Twitter.
Ashimeru missed the World Cup after he was omitted from Otto Addo’s squad for Qatar 2022. Asamoah Gyan immediately reacted after the game on Twitter, ”Now you understand why I talk about this guy?“
