Bafana Bafana midfielder, Themba ‘Mshishi’ Zwane has pledged an improved performance as they get set to face Morocco in their epic AFCON round of 16 showdown.


The talismanic livewire who scooped his second consecutive AFCON Man of the Match Award promises to doll-out a well improved showing against the North Africans.


Speaking after their match against Tunisia on Wednesday night, the Mamelodi Sundowns captain who is widely known as Mshishi said despite the physicality of the game against the Carthage Eagles, Bafana had to remain calm to avoid unnecessary fouls and cautions.


“We knew as a team that it was going to be difficult because they use a lot of physique and at the same time, we wanted to avoid necessary cautions and fouls,” said Mshishi as he made a promise against Morocco.


“It was a difficult match but credit to my teammates for fighting on and ensuring that we keep calm and avoid costly mistakes.


“We knew as a team it was going to be difficult and physical against Tunisia. We had to fight as a team, we had to stand up ourselves and try to fight.”


Mshishi’ Zwane went ahead to express fatigue concerns, saying; “This one was difficult. We coordinated well, even though they were closing the spaces for us. We tried to be calm and penetrated to create more chances.



“They were tired and so were we, so it was important to keep calm and keep the ball. We have a good team to go forward for the games and fight. We are going to push ourselves," added Mshishi on the upcoming Afcon clash versus Morocco.
