Dan Quaye, a former Ghana international has taken a swipe at Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu after threatening to beat Ghanaian journalists and fans after their elimination from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars were kicked out of the tournament after failing to beat Mozambique in the final Group B match.

But after Ghana put in a woeful performance in Ivory Coast on Monday night, Quaye, a former Hearts of Oak defender in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM has lashed out at Salisu for daring Ghanaian journalists, who expressed their dissatisfaction after the match to face him.

“Mohammed Salisu’s response was childish and senseless. Salisu has not performed ever since he joined the Black Stars. Even at my age, I’m better than him. I just need to train and I’m good to go. You guys have broken the heart of Ghanaians and when they pour out their frustrations you give them rubbish and nonsensical responses." Quaye said.

“You may earn more money at your club but don’t forget it’s the National team that can lift you to attain greater heights. The national team belongs to the supporters so if things aren’t going right they have every right to complain," he added.
