The Black Stars of Ghana had an impressive run in 2025 with a massive updrage in terms of performance especially after missing out on the last AFCON and have now been nominated for the men national team of the year accolade in the upcoming 2025 CAF awards.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) annually have always been honouring footballers, clubs and national teams that delivered standout performances in the year under review in both men and women football on the continent and Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman and Shipolopolo skipper Barbara Banda won the ultimate prizes in the last edition.

It’s been a mighty while since the four-time African champions were recognized for this prestigious award and in there this time due to their unbeaten run in six competitive matches this year; with five wins and draw.

Otto Addo’s men also, are part of countries that delivered top-tier performances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers having won eight matches from ten matches with a draw and a defeat, accumulating massive 25 points to emerge winners of Group I.

Other nominees in the same category are Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, current African champions Côte d’Ivoire, Cape Verde - who just secured their first ever World Cup spot and the Atlas Cubs of Morocco — the current world champions at U-20 level.

The continent’s highest football governing body is yet to communicate an official date and venue for the 2025 CAF awards but it’s been rumored it will once again be held in Morocco in December.
