Asante Kotoko have touched down safely in Casablanca, Morocco, for the return encounter against Wydad Athletic Club in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The first leg was honoured in Accra last Sunday and the Porcupine Warriors painfully lost by a narrow 0-1 in the end against the Red Castles courtesy Joseph Bakasu’s lone goal in the early stages of the second half.
The Reds will now have to win by two unanswered goals or more in the return leg before they could advance to the main competition which according to many bookmakers will be a very tedious task to accomplish.
Asante Kotoko left the shores of the country earlier this morning and landed safely at the Mohammed V International Airport
Coach Karim Zito’s 18-man squad consist of all the key players at his disposal at the moment with the exception of injured Kwame Poku and goalkeeper Mohammed Richard Camara— who was red carded in the first leg for handling the ball outside the penalty box.
The two-time African champions upon arrival will definitely hold a recovery training later today before they finally train at the match venue - Mohammed V Stadium tomorrow evening in order to acclimatize to the weather, pitch and others to have themselves adequately prepared and ready for the herculean clash.
