Botswana head coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has released a 24-man squad list for next month's international friendly against Ghana in South Africa.
The Zebras have been scheduled for an all-important friendly against the senior national team of Ghana on January 8, 2024 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The match forms part of Botswana's preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and 2025 Africa Cup of Nations while the game serves as a preparatory fixture for Black Stars ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast from January to February 2024.
USM Alger forward Tumisang Orebonye headline the 24-man squad list announced by Didier Gomes Da Rosa, which is dominated by players featuring for the Botswana Premier League.
The last time the two countries squared off was at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations where the Black Stars secured 1-0 victory over the Zebras of Botswana courtesy a 25th minute goal from John Mensah. The tournament was Botswana's first-ever appearance at AFCON.
Ghana, who are chasing to lift their fifth continental trophy have been placed in Group B of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and will face Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
The Black Stars will take on Cape Verde in the opening games at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on January 14, 2024, then face Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
