Ghanaian champions FC Samartex 1996 have touched down safely in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round fixture against Raja Athletic Club this weekend.

The first leg ended 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday- in a game that was really a thrilling one even though the hosts felt they should have walked off with all three points while the visitors believed they couldn't win because of the poor state of the pitch.

The visitors opened the scoring account through Mohammed Zrida before two subsequent goals on the stroke of half time from Francis Gyetuah and Michael Ephson handed the Ghanaian champions the lead for the first time in the game.

However, Mohammed Boulacsout's 63rd minute equalizer was enough to split the score between both sides after full time.

FC Samartex contingent led by General Manager Edmund Ackah left the shores of the country on the early hours of today and completed a six-hour journey en route to the North African country.

Head coach Nurudeen Amadu and his charges are expected to hold series of trainings to acclimatize quickly to the weather, the stadium, the pitch and others to get them ever ready for the enticing showdown coming up

The second leg is slated for Saturday, September 21, at the Mohammed V Stadium, at 19:00GMT.
