FC Samartex centre forward, Emmanuel Mamah, has expressed optimism as his team gears up for the decisive return leg against Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League second round of the preliminary stage.
The Timber Giants will face Raja Casablanca at the Stade Larbi Zaouli, following a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite being viewed as the underdogs, Mamah is confident about their chances. “We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming second leg of the fixture, despite still being considered the underdog,” he told the club’s website. “There’s absolutely no pressure on us, which allows us to play with a sense of freedom and confidence.”
Mamah highlighted the team’s goal to build on their strong performance from the first leg. “Our main objective is to build on the strong performance we showcased last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he added.
The match is set to kick off at 19:00 GMT on Saturday, September 21. The Timber Giants, who departed for Morocco on Thursday morning, are determined to advance to the group phase of the CAF elite competition in their maiden participation under coach Nurudeen Amadu.
