Samartex midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo is fully aware of the challenge as the team prepares for their debut appearance in the CAF Champions League.

The Timber Giants will face Victoria United in their opening fixture on August 18, 2024, with the first leg scheduled to be played away in Douala, Cameroon, followed by the return match at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana.

Under the guidance of coach Nurudeen Amadu, Samartex has arrived in Douala and will be staying at their hotel before conducting a shake-up exercise and two days of training in preparation for the crucial clash.

Adabo, speaking to Kessben FM, emphasized the significance of this opportunity and the team's readiness: “It’s a big platform for us to prove our worth in Africa. This is a huge motivation for the players. We are not under pressure going into the game. We are representing Ghana and are fully aware of the task ahead. We’ve discussed our goals and are determined to perform well against Victoria United.”

Samartex, who clinched the Ghana Premier League title last season, will be representing Ghana in the prestigious CAF competition for the first time.

The winner of this tie will advance to the second preliminary round, potentially facing Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a chance to reach the group stages.
