FC Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu has set his sights on securing qualification to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Timber giants are representing Ghana in the CAF elite competition next season after their historic Ghana Premier League triumph last season, dethroning Medeama.

Samartex will kick off their campaign against Cameroonian champions, Victoria United FC on August 18, 2024, at the Omnisport Stadium in Cameroon. The return fixture is scheduled for August 25, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, following the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) approval.

In an interview with JoySports, Amadu stated that the team's main objective is to qualify to the money zone, without specifying a specific target. Samartex are aiming to make a mark in their maiden CAF Champions League campaign.

“I can’t give a specific target but our main objective is to qualify to the money zone” he JoySports in an interview.

The team recently concluded their preseason training tour in the Eastern Region and returned to Sameraboi for the Nsenkyire Cup. The winner of the tie will progress to the second preliminary round, where they potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.

Amadu's ambition is clear, and he will be looking to guide his team to a successful campaign in Africa's top club competition.
