Enterprising forward of FC Samartex 1996, Baba Hamadu Musa, has revealed that their current aspiration is to reach the group stage of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
Samartex made history by becoming winners of the Ghana Premier League in the recently ended season, deposing Medeama off the trophy.
The Timber Giants will be making their first appearance in the inter-club CAF competition.
Samartex are fired to make a mark in their maiden CAF Champions League campaign.
“We will play only two games if we are unable to reach the group stage. If we lose in the first round of the prelims, it means we will be evicted from the competition. Our wish is to do our best and be in the group stage” he said in an audio aired on Wontumi FM.
Samartex will clash with Cameroonian side Victoria United in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, which has been slated for August 16 and 25, 2024.
The winner of the tie will forge ahead to the second preliminary round where they are likely to face Morocco's Raja Club Athletic for a place in the group stages.
