FC Samartex 1996 coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has stated that their main aspiration ahead of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League is to advance to the next stage of the competition.

The Timber Giants annexed the Ghana Premier League title in their second season in the top tier, securing Ghana's only spot as representative in the continental club competition.

Samartex will take on Cameroonian club Victoria United in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, which has been scheduled for August 16 and 25, 2024.

“So since it's our debut, we are also trying to go far. We try to do our best. It's not going to be easy,” Nurudeen Amadu told Joy Sports.

“But we and the board, management, everybody, the investors, we are all motivated. We want to carry the team to a different level.”

Victoria United will host Samartex at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, in the first leg before travelling to Ghana to face off with the Timber Giants for the second leg.
