Dreams FC head coach Abdul Karim Zito has showered praise on his charges for an impressive display against Academica do Lobito in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
The Ghana FA Cup champions boosted their chances of qualifying to the quarter-final stage of the competition with a resounding 4-0 win over the Angolan outfit in the match-day four encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Dreams FC exercised their attacking muscles by opening the floodgate through Mensah Agyenim Boateng in the 35th minute before an own goal from Adi Boyo in the 49th minute aided them to double the advantage.
Teen sensation Abdul Aziz Issah extended their lad with a stunning long-range strike in 74th minute of the game, his third goal in the CAF Confederation Cup.
A 92nd minute from Tanko Nuhu ensured the ‘Still Believe’ lads a resounding home win to keep them at a second spot on the Group C log with 9 points, same points as leaders Club Africain.
“All goals scored against us were stoppable, my players are very young in this stage of the competition so I to talk to them well and cautioned against conceding any foolish goal, thankfully, they lived to expectations” Karim Zito told the media after the game.
“Whiles we were leading, I was more focus on the defense. I think we have achieved our objective so I’m okay”
Dreams FC will now switch attention to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season following the break of CAF inter-club competitions for thw 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
