In an interview with Talk Sports, Ghana coach Chris Hughton acknowledged the competitive landscape of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Hughton highlighted Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, and Ghana as the leading contenders for the prestigious title, recognizing Ghana's strength and the massive support behind the team.

“There are numerous formidable teams, such as Morocco, especially considering their performance in the World Cup. Egypt, having secured the most victories, Senegal as the current champions, and Ghana, backed by the immense support we’ll be sending, and our close proximity, are all strong contenders.”

The Black Stars, vying for their fifth continental trophy, are positioned in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

The AFCON tournament is set to commence on Saturday, January 13, concluding on February 11, 2024.
