Nsoatreman FC head coach Yaw Preko expressed that his team could have scored more goals in their dominant 3-0 victory over Elect Sport in their CAF Confederation Cup opener.

The Ghana FA Cup champions made an impressive debut in CAF competition, securing a comprehensive win at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the first leg of the preliminary round.

Goals from Abdul Rahman and Kwabena Adu Mieder, along with a third strike, sealed the victory for Nsoatreman FC. Despite the comfortable win, Preko felt his side missed opportunities to increase their lead, particularly in the second half.

“I’m very proud, but we should have scored more, especially in the second half," Preko said in his post-match interview. "We lost a bit of balance, and the substitutions didn’t help. It’s our first game, and to get three goals here, I’m very proud of the boys. There is more to come.”

Nsoatreman FC will head into the return leg with a solid advantage as they travel to N'Djamena on August 24, 2024.

The winner of the tie will advance to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage.
