Asante Kotoko Communications Director Sarfo Duku remains confident that the club can overturn their 1-0 first-leg deficit against Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup second-leg clash scheduled for Friday in Casablanca.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a narrow loss in Accra last Sunday, but Duku insists that the performance gave the players confidence and belief that qualification is still within reach.

Speaking to Luv FM, he noted that Kotoko matched the Moroccan giants in all areas and were simply unfortunate not to find the back of the net.

“The players are so confident. I think before the game, the Moroccans were overhyped. I didn’t see much difference between the two clubs,” Duku said.

“In fact, Kotoko even played better in the second half, but for that glorious chance we lost in the first half, the story would have been different.”

Duku added that Kotoko’s recent away form, particularly their back-to-back victories over Kwara United in the first round, has further boosted the team’s confidence heading into the decisive second leg.

“They know the Moroccans are just being overhyped; they can play with them. We did it in Nigeria, and they believe they can still do it. The players haven’t lost hope at all,” he affirmed.

Kotoko will travel to Casablanca aiming to produce another resilient away performance and secure a place in the group stage of the competition.
