Ghana and Coventry City midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has been nominated for the 2026 CAF African Young Player of the Year award following an impressive season for club and country.
The 22-year-old is among 10 players shortlisted for the individual honour, with his performances for Danish side FC Nordsjaelland and the Black Stars earning him continental recognition.

He also made an impression at the FIFA World Cup in North America, scoring Ghana’s winning goal in their 1-0 group-stage victory over Panama.
His performances at club and international level attracted attention and eventually earned him a move to English Premier League side Coventry City.
Yirenkyi will compete for the CAF award alongside Ibrahim Maza, Christian Kofane, Christ Inao, Yan Diomandé, Hamza Abdelkarim, Ismaël Kamissoko, Abdellah Ouazane, Ayoub Bouaddi and Ibrahim Mbaye.
