Earlier on Wednesday morning, former Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah was widely reported to have been appointed as the new head coach of Sudan national team but turns out the story is untrue, according to Asante Fokuo.
Rumour has it that, the 63-year-old has reached an agreement with the Sudan FA and has already signed to lead the Secretarybirds in the next three years.
However, a counter speculations later also reported the story is false since there hasn't been any official communique from any of the two camps.
To affirm this, Kwesi Appiah's personal aide, Asante Fokuo in an interview, has denied those development despite admitting there are talks ongoing but stated emphatically clear that, the latter hasn't signed with any national team yet.
"This is not true as at today Wednesday 20th September, 2023. I can confirm that some National teams like Zambia, Sudan and clubs have expressed interest in coach Kwesi Appiah but he has never signed any contract with any team."
James Kwesi Appiah after ending his second Black Stars spell in early 2020, has served as the Technical Director of lower-division side Kenpong Academy and is just recently part of Kotoko's Interim Management Committee.
