Dreams FC General Manager Ameenu Shadow has officially confirmed that his team will use the Baba Yara Stadium as their home venue for the CAF Confederations Cup group phase matches.
The Still Believe lads earned a historic qualification to the group stage of the Confederations Cup after defeating Kallon FC from Sierra Leone.
While Dreams FC initially played their qualification matches at the Accra Sports Stadium, they will now have to relocate to the Baba Yara Stadium, which is the only approved venue in Ghana for hosting such CAF games, as per Shadow's statement.
In Group C of the competition, Dreams FC will face off against Tunisian giants Club Africain, former Nigerian champions Rivers United, and fellow debutants Academica do Lobito from Angola.
Shadow explained, “Baba Yara is the only sanctioned stadium according to the list released by CAF, so we have no other choice but to play at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.”
The group phase of the Confederation Cup is scheduled to commence on Sunday, November 26, 2023, and will run until March 3, 2024.
