Ebenezer Aidoo, the Brands and Marketing Manager of Medeama SC, has confirmed that the club will host their CAF Champions League home games at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Initially, the Ghana Premier League team had hoped to play their home matches at the newly constructed T&A Park in Tarkwa after advancing to the group stage of CAF's premier competition.
Medeama used the Cape Coast Stadium for their preliminary games, but CAF deemed it unsuitable to host the matches after an inspection.
Aidoo explained, "The first option was to play at T&A Park because we were hoping that renovations and work would be completed on time, but it did not happen."
He continued, "The second option was to play at the Cape Coast Stadium because that is where we played all our preliminary games. But CAF had to come and inspect the stadium because the games are category four games for CAF, and we informed the National Sports Authority and the Sports Ministry. We had to opt to play at the Baba Yara Stadium because time was running out for us."
Medeama SC has been drawn into Group D of the competition alongside Al Ahly, Young Africans, and CR Belouizdad. They will begin their campaign against Al Ahly on November 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
