Liverpool talisman Mohammed Salah has won the Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Season award for the 2023-24 season.
The Egypt international pipped Virgil van Dijk and midfielder Alexis Mac Allister to the award, for the fourth time in his seven years at Anfield so far.
The 31-year-old bagged 25 goals in all competitions and 13 assists in the 2023-24 season – he was the joint-most within the squad alongside Darwin Nunez.
Salah was involved in 38 goals from his 44 appearances to help Liverpool lift the Carabao Cup and secure Champions League qualification via a third-placed finish in the English Premier League.
He started the season explosively and won all three Standard Chartered Player of the Month awards between September and November, as well as receiving the Premier League’s award in October, 2023.
After climbing above Steven Gerrard to take fifth place on the club’s all-time top scorers list, Salah was on the scoresheet at Crystal Palace in December to reach the milestone of 200 goals – joining esteemed company in Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell as double centurions for Liverpool.
