The Danish elite division side have secured the signature of the teenage sensation from the west African outfit and would be teaming up with them in the next two football seasons 

lvorian sensational starlet Hubert Yao has completed his transfer move to Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland from Ivory Coast top division side FC San Pedro, the club have announced.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder would be joining up with the Right to Dream Park campaigners when he turns 18 in January 2028.

A statement confirming his signing reads: ''The young Ivorian striker Hubert Yao will join FC Nordsjælland in January 2028, when he turns 18.

''The talented offensive player comes from the club FC San Pedro in Ivory Coast and has already represented and scored for his country during the U17 World Cup in Qatar last year, while in the coming weeks he may also play for the African Championships as part of the Ivorian U17 national team.

''And the 190-centimeter-tall striker can do that with the certainty that he has a future in place. Because he will be part of FC Nordsjælland in a little over a year and a half.''

The lanky sensational attacker has told his club's official website: ''I am very happy that it is now confirmed that I will join FC Nordsjælland when I turn 18. It is a childhood dream come true for me, and both my family and I are very proud of it. I can hardly wait to play my first game for the club.''

Sporting director Alexander Riget added: ''Hubert Yao is a great Ivorian talent, who we look forward to welcoming here at FC Nordsjælland when he turns 18. He is a tall offensive player who can play both as a striker and on the wing, as he has enormous speed and is very persistent in his game. He is good at attacking space and challenging in 1-on-1 situations, and he can also get to the finish and score goals.

'' And he has already made a positive impression on the Ivorian U17 national team. It is really good work by our scouting team, and it is important for us that we can continue to attract great talents from West Africa. It is an investment in our future, and we look forward to Hubert Yao becoming a part of it.''

Yao, who has already made his mark with the lvory Coast U17 youth team during the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar last year, is set to lead the attacking line of the Young Elephants in the upcoming 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament slated for May 13 to June 2, 2026 in Morocco.
