The teenage sensational defender has inked his first deal with the Belgian top-flight outfit, with his fresh terms set to take him through to 2029 at the Jan Breydel Stadium

Belgian-born Congolese starlet Blessing Mukanza has penned a three-year contract with Belgian Pro League heavyweights Club Brugge, the club have confirmed.

The 16-year-old promising centre-back, currently stirring with the Club Brugge U18, has magnificently progressed through the academy ranks and management have decided to reward him with his first deal as their finished article after attracting admiring glances from potential suitors ahead of the summer transfer window.

A statement confirming his first fresh terms with the Jan Breydel Stadium campaigners reads: ''Blessing Mukanza (16) has signed his first contract with Club NXT, which runs until 2029. The central defender has been active with Blauw-Zwart since the 2017-2018 season. Mukanza moved to Club at the age of eight, after previously playing one season for City Pirates.

''Mukanza currently plays for Club NXT U18. He has already appeared nine times this season in the U18 Elite 1 competition. He has also gained experience on an international level: last year he was part of the national Futures team. With this contract, the future trajectory of Blessing Mukanza within Club NXT is secured through 2029.''

Given his glowing talent as a wonderkid, the DR Congo national football team technical handlers must keep a close eye on his progress henceforth as he could become the brightest future prospect for their senior side in the nearest future.
