Kwesi Nyantakyi, a former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President has encouraged Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton to have confidence and field the young players in his team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Although we are just a few hours from the tournament getting started, the talent on show will be bountiful, both in terms of superstars and up-and-coming prospects.
The former Ghana FA boss speaking in an interview with Starr FM said; "If we have courageous coaches, we will do well.
"Sometimes coaches may be persuaded by big names but it's always not about that.
Nyantakyi went ahead to urge the former Nottingham Forest manager to jog his memory to Ghana's braggadocio performance in Angola where the West African powerhouse went all the way to the final by fielding young players.
"Chris Hughton should take a cue from the Angola experience where young players were fielded and we went all the way to the finals.
"If you have players with speed, skills and stamina, I believe we can do well and I think that is what the coach should do.
"I believe that with this, we can win the trophy," he concluded.
The Black Stars will first clash with Cape Verde on January 14 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, then come up against Egypt at the same venue four days later and then Mozambique at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on January 22, 2024.
