Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Kwame Keyekeh is close to completing his switch to Tanzanian citizenship, per reports from African football expert Micky Jnr.

Keyekeh has formally begun the process by renouncing his Ghanaian citizenship, with his passport submitted to the Director of Passports in Ghana for cancellation.

All necessary documentation has been signed and confirmed, signaling the conclusion of Ghana’s role in the transition.

Ghana’s Ministry of the Interior has also approved and signed off on the process. The final step now rests with Tanzania’s authorities to issue Keyekeh a passport, officially making him a citizen of the East African nation.

Currently playing for Singida Black Stars SC in the Tanzanian Premier League, the 26-year-old’s move represents a significant personal and professional milestone.

Tanzania have been trying to lure the Ghanaian to join them since he signed for Tanzanian Mainland Premier League side Singida Black Stars.

Officials have held talks and succeeded in convincing the midfielder to switch allegiance to the Taifa Stars.

The midfielder never got the opportunity to play for Ghana's Black Stars.

Keyekeh, known for his midfield prowess, previously won the Ghana Premier League with both Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex, solidifying his reputation as a top talent.
