Ghana coach Chris Hughton believes he is the best tactician to lead the Black Stars after an embarrassing defeat to United States of America (USA) in an international friendly on Wednesday morning.
The Black Stars were humiliated 4-0 by the senior national team of USA when both nation wrapped up their October friendlies in a game at the GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
A five-star performance from the North Nation saw Giovanni Reyna scoring twice and one goal each from Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun ensured USA a massive victory over the West African side.
The Black Stars under Chris Hughton has been uninspiring and struggled to minnows like Central African Republic and Madagascar during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Before the USA game, Ghana had lost 2-0 to the tricolors of Mexico and played the entire duration without hitting a shot on target.
However, Hughton in response to a question following the 4-0 defeat to the USA on Wednesday at the post match conference, he issued an apology for the outcome and reiterated his confidence in his suitability for the job, stating, "If you ask me if I feel like I'm the right person for this job, the answer is yes."
The Black Stars will be back in action next month for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
