Reigning Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC have expressed interest in securing the signature of Ghanaian defender Ibrahim Imoro on a free transfer.

The talented left-back has emerged as a top transfer target for the Young Africans SC for a possible acquisition in this transfer window.

Imoro, who mutually terminated his contract with Sudanese side Al Hilal following the political unrest in the East African nation, is set to return to action as officials of the Tanzania Premier League outfit have commenced negotiations for the imminent capture of the Ghanaian international to bolster their squad for the remainder of the 2023–24 season's campaign.

The 24-year-old has been unattached since leaving Al Hilal in July 2023 and a failed move to South African side Chippa United last year.

He was later linked with a return to the Ghana Premier League to feature for Asante Kotoko, but the deal couldn't materialize due to outrageous wages.

Imoro made 83 appearances in the Ghana Premier League for Bolga All Stars, Karela United, and Asante Kotoko before leaving the shores of the West African nation to seal a move to Al Hilal.

During his three-year stay at Asante Kotoko, Imoro made over 70 appearances for the Reds and played an instrumental role in the club's league triumph in the 2021/22 season.

Following his explosive performances at Asante Kotoko, he earned a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana and has been capped three times for the Black Stars.
