Asante Kotoko captain, Richard Boadu has disclosed that, their target in this year's CAF Champions League is to reach the group stage- a mark the club hasn't achieved for a very long time.

The 24 year old is getting into his third season with the Porcupine Warriors since joining from Medeama SC and has been appointed as the club's substantive captain following his great service to the club within the said period.

Kotoko secured a precious 0-1 away triumph over Burkinabe champions, RC Kadiogo in the first preliminary round, with the return leg set for this Sunday in Kumasi.
 
Speaking in the pre-match presser, the combative midfielder feels very excited for his promotion as the new captain and added their target is to reach the money zone of the  Champions League this season.
 
"The captaincy means a lot to me but it comes with a lot of responsibilities."
 
“Because being a player for Kotoko isn’t an easy task so to say, so I will just have to adjust to the role of a captain and what it demands.”

The game is scheduled this Sunday, September 18, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
