Asante Kotoko's first leg CAF Champions League game against RC Kadiogo in Cotonou, Benin will be without club's last season top scorer Franck Thierry Mbella Etouga and other players who were integral in the club's preseason training.

The team returned to Ghana last week from Sudan where they engaged in competitive preseason friendly games against Al Hilal Omdurman, Simba SC and Al Ahli Khartoum in preparation to the 2022/23 season.

Franck Thierry Mbella has been away from the club's preseason activities due to issues relating to injuries and ill-health, however, resumes training last week.

Ivorian import Serge Eric Zeze, Stephen Amankona, Augustine Agyapong and Rocky Dwamena who were part of the team's preseason training are not part of the travelling squad to Benin to face RC Kadiogo after last selection by the technical team led by Seidu Zerbo.

The game which was originally scheduled to come off in Cote D'Ivoire has been move to Benin due to the unavailability of the Yamousoukro Sports Stadium.

The team left the shores of Ghana to Benin by road on Thursday morning from Accra and will be expected to arrive in Cotonou later today.

The game will come off on Monday, 12th September, 2022 in Benin.
