DR Congo defender Dylan Batubinsika has disclosed that his best memory of the 2023 AFCON was his team's nervy win over Egypt.

DR Congo surpassed all odds and managed to reach the semi-finals of the 2023 AFCON, before back-to-back defeats to Ivory Coast and South Africa saw them finish fourth.

But it will remain a feat to remember for many years for The Leopards, having secured wins over the likes of Egypt and Guinea during the tournament.

Speaking after winning the MOTM award in the third-placed (bronze) match, Batubinsika said: “I am pleased with this trophy. I thank God for this. I think we can be proud of our tournament.

“We performed well and we take the positives from this journey. Only a few expected us to reach this level and it is a positive takeaway to build for the future.

“I will only remember the positives from our journey. My best memory remains our victory against Egypt.

“It was a tough and difficult match and we emerged victorious against a quality side," he concluded.
